Editorial: That’s a bit cheeky, Microsoft!

Many users of Microsoft operating systems just tend to set their updates to ‘automatic’, or click install on anything ‘recommended’ or ‘important’ without looking what the update actually does. Sometimes, the result of this can be downright dangerous – updates have, in the past, disabled hardware or software and, on rare occasions, made your OS […]

A final fizzle?

The dead sim that isn’t quite dead, apparently, would like to give its users a twist in the tail of the tale. And extract some more money from them, for preference. MS Rumor Mill Turning Again

A number of people throughout the ‘games’ population have received a survey from Microsoft Games Studios, asking ‘waht would you like to see in a flight simulator GAME’ (capitals by the editor.). The questions asked there seem to hint into the (expected) direction of a game, indeed, and most likely aimed to run on the […]

Poll: Did MS Alienate Customers?

Since Microsoft abandoned Flight Simulator many people ‘declared’ they would no longer support the Redmond giant. FS was the only reason they were buying MS products (read: operating systems) anyway and that reason now had disappeared. Obviously many people, especially in communities like ours, were extremely disappointed. But to what extent did the recent unfortunate […]

Join: 100.000 Flight Simulator Fans

I have opened a Facebook Group in support of Microsoft Flight Simulator in general, and its laid-off developers  specifically! You may argue that nothing in the world is ‘fair’, but MS closing down Aces and killing one of its all-time cash cows seems like a questionable move. Taking down so many people with it, many […]

Microsoft Closes Down ACES Studios [Update]

Rumors are now confirmed that Microsoft’s bean counters have deciced that their games division is no longer ‘needed’ and are closing down Aces Studios. If The Trainsimmers Can Have Them……

‘Them’ being animated characters, that is, then why CAN’T WE !!?? I am pretty sure there is a ‘market’ for much better detailed and animated people in the FSX world. Early attempts were made in the times of Orcas Island and the products of Bill Lyons, and now in FSX we have the default ones […]
